Farm

With another trip to MN behind us we have SO many fun new memories to hold on to. The big difference for this trip was that Nat was not able to go with us. He stayed home and turned our sunroom into a guest bedroom. It was one of those jobs that we just wanted to have done and getting it done with the little guys running around was just not going to happen. We missed him TREMENDOUSLY, but came home to a nearly completed room. It was REALLY funny though, as we landed in Lexington after being a way for 10 days and I asked Myles if he was excited to see daddy he said, "Yeah, but why didn't daddy come with us to papa's farm? He doesn't like papa's farm?"  Poor little guy could not imagine ANYONE not liking papas farm. Myles told me up until we got off the plane that he was going to stay at Papa's farm a lot longer. Luckily there were no major outbursts and the arrival of daddy smoothed things over. These boys do love their Nana and Papa farm time.

The first time cutting hay with Papa.

Ty in charge...Quite the site!
Myles holding his first frog!!!!! I was really proud!
Ty was not so sure about the frog. He tried to step on it until it jumped then he cried. :-)
Checking the hay with Uncle Ken. He talked poor Ken's ear off.
Love this picture.

Summer Heat

With the heat wave that just swept the nation, we had only one choice really to stay cool. Get out the sprinkler. So we did. Luckily things have cooled off to a much more manageable temp. I was starting to think I would have to carry a box fan with me everywhere I went. It was just crazy.

Starting off the morning with a special treat. Breakfast at the little table!

Myles was trying to to teach Ty how to run through the sprinkler.

Action Shot!
Not quite as brave, but loving it just as much.

Ty gets so mad when he does this. Ty is yelling right now.

This just makes me giggle.
AHHH summer is here and we will enjoy it.

Indiana Fun

This past weekend Little Man, Mini Man, and I loaded up the car and headed to Indiana to visit my AMAZING friend Adrienne and her family. The trip was WAY too short, but was well worth it. It just got me excited for he next trip. Adrienne and Matthew just moved to Indiana after he got a job transfer. They are the ones who SO GRACIOUSLY took care of the boys every week while we went to foster care meetings. I adore her and the kids love each other as well. To say that I was devestated when she left is an understatement, but God has his reasons and we are sticking to that to keep us sane. :-) The kids really could not have had more fun. They played outside for HOURS, got to eat pizza, and Myles even got to sleep in Landin's tent. I was excited because I got to have Duggar movie night again and eat ice cream while discussing all things Duggar to anyone who would listen. They also introduced me to a new show, "Swamp People". I'm not hooked yet, but did enjoy it thoroughly. I even got introduced to hamburgers from 5 Guys. I'm not sure if you have ever had one of these burgers before, but for a pregnant lady, it is a little bit of heaven. I almost felt like I was at the state fair.  They were amazing. So between GREAT company, good food, fun activities, I would say this trip was a HUGE SUCCESS!!! The only hard part of the trip was when Myles woke up from his nap in the car and realized his buddy Landin wasn't at his house waiting for him. I have never seen my Little Man so distraught before. He just kept crying "Mommy, I sad cause Landin's not here to play with me. I just so sad." Then he would just burst into tears and we would rock together. Poor Little Man.
Pizza Time!
Helping Matthew with some lawn work.

Two Peas in a Pod.
The weather was PERFECT for some baseball.

Of course Ty was not far behind.
Driving Lauren's sweet ride.

"5 Guys" for lunch. See how happy they are!
Ty, Myles, Landin, and Lauren. Who knew they could sit so still!

Baseball Date Night

We recently took Myles to  his second Lexington Legends baseball game. I love when we get the chance to do date night with just Myles. It feels like such a special treat to be able to give him ALL of our focus. Good friends of ours had a box for the night so they invited us and it was such a BEAUTIFUL evening for a baseball game. Having the sky box with little kids was fantastic too because they got to run all around and not bug people every time they moved. Myles got to see superhero men, some mascots, eat a hot dog, and play with a couple kids his age. Nat and I got to spend time watching baseball and wrestling only one kid. We really could not have asked for a better night.
Capri Sun, baseball game, and a fun daddy. Sounds like a winner of a night to me.

It was superhero night! Myles was flexing his superhero muscles!

Mom and her big boy!
Pretty sure he doesn't understand how great these seats are. :-)
Giving the big baseball a pound.
A night well spent.

Fort Time

Myles and I were bored one rainy day so we decided to build a fort in his room. I am usually not the fort building type, that is usually Nat, but we needed something to do and it just seemed cozy. We read under there, we snuggled, and we told stories When it was bed time I jokingly asking him if he wanted to sleep under there and he said yes. I figured he would be by my bedside within an hour asking me to help him into his bed. This is what I woke up to in the morning. He has slept under there for every nap AND bedtime for the last week. It's kind of a pain trying to get him dressed everyday since it is attached to his dresser, but he is happy, and I think it's cool too. Our next task is to take the REAL tent out in the back yard and do a camping night. Kids bring out the fun for sure!

Girl Time

Girl time is always a necessity and it seems that we don't get enough of it! Recently all the Zins girls (minus Sara due to their honeymoon) went to Des Moines to attend the Women of Faith conference. It was an AWESOME time to worship together as well as just being silly. Mom was awesome and not only paid for our tickets and hotel rooms, but also bought us all matching jammies. With a crowd like this there was more laughing in one weekend than most people do in a month. We also went and saw the movie Bridesmaids, which nearly made us wet our pants. (Mom probably did, but what can you do?) I'm already looking forward to next year and all the fun we will have. I feel like we have found a good thing. :-)

In our matching jammies.
Pretty sure mom was in the bathroom at this moment!

Memorial Day

This memorial day we went to Cumberland Falls for some hiking and family time. We got to spend the day with both of Nat's brothers as well as his dad. The weather was hot and sunny which made for some sweaty and tired people by the end of the day! We did some eating, some hiking, and some more eating which is exactly how it should be.  We love hiking and need to do it more often. Ty does well in the baby carrier and Myles usually does quite well walking by himself until it's time to go back. He wanted to walk back by himself, but then got a leg cramp and just started crying in pain.  I explained that is was just a cramp and I would carry him until he felt better. When we got back he told Nat that he "stepped on a cramp and it hurt his leg". :-)

Getting packed up to go for a picnic.

Such a big helper. He was even grunting as he tried to pick it up.

This is why I can never leave when I want. My boys always want to play with WHATEVER it is that I am trying to pack!
Ready to head back out on our hike.

The sign of a day well spent.
