Chicken Pot Pie

I think Natalie is getting as sick of all these weight checks as we are. Last night she decided to take matters into her own hands and started eating people food!! Turns out she LOVES my homemade potpie. Sure hoping this trend continues.

Visitors!!

Nana and Papa surprised us with a visit this month. We were extra happy since we weren't sure when we were going to get to see them again because right now they are on a trip to Alaska!!
Silly papa thinks he can take a nap with little kritters around.  Natalie reminded him how unlikely it was to get an uninterrupted nap.
She was pretty excited about her surprise attack!
Nap times with Papa are always a must!
Papas are always good for sharing their ice cream.

While mom and dad were here we got rain for the first time in about a month! I had all sorts of fun places to take them and they were all outside. We improvised and went to Bounce U. I don't know who had more fun, the adults or the kids.  It makes me laugh some times when I think how lucky my kids are to have such fun, young grandparents. Age is just a number and these pics prove it!!
 Nana, Ty, and Mommy!!
They look so serious here. :-) The sheriffs are in town on their bouncy horse!
YAHOO!!!!
Trying to be just like Papa yet again!
Nana and Papa Picture Take 1......
Take 2.....Really Ty?
PERFECTION!!!
Shortly after mom and dad visited we were blessed to have my aunt and uncle visit us from California. Their son, Matthew, is whose wedding we went to in June. They decided to do a little road trip in Tennessee and South Carolina and decided to make a stop at our house. We had an absolute blast with them here for the night and really felt so loved that they took time out of their vacation to come to our little part of the world. Nothing is better than having family around!! THANKS Ron and Ramona!!

Little vacation

Earlier in the month Nat decided we needed to take a little family vacation, just the 5 of us. He has heard about Mammoth Caves and thought it would be the perfect location. The one thing we didn't think through was the heat. It was during the really bad heat wave and it just wasn't the time to take 3 kids hiking and sight seeing. We did LOVE the caves, but decided this was a trip to be done during the spring or fall.  We came home a day early and after all the heat, it was a good idea because it took us an extra day to recover before starting the week.
It blows my mind how big he looks here. Just looks like a little man to me!
The caves really were fun to see and explore. The cold was also a great relief from the 104 degree temps.

Classic
Good times making memories!!

Big steps for a little boy!

Indiana Fair and Leech Visit

It's been 1 full year since we've made the trip to Indiana to visit the Leech family. I felt like a TERRIBLE friend when I realized it had been that long, but I did have a baby during that time so I'll use that as my excuse. Luckily, Adrienne is an AMAZING friend and she picked up the slack and she came to visit us numerous times. We went during the week which meant that Nat stayed home and got to have some time to himself while we were gone. He had a good time sleeping in and watching all his guy shows while we were gone and we loved that he got to recharge his battery.

Lauren is the best little babysitter. She wanted to help with every aspect of Natalie. She was my little helper. Natalie obviously loved it as well.

The main reason we went to Indiana when we did was to go to the county fair. One odd confession...I am a Fair JUNKIE!! When Nat and I were in MN we made it a point one summer to go to as many county fairs as possible. I was in HEAVEN!! When we moved to Lexington I learned VERY quickly that what they consider to be a fair is NOT up to my standards. The local fair and the state fair were a huge letdown. I decided I would go out of state since that seemed to be the only option. Adrienne didn't let me down and we had a blast. It rained the morning we were suppose to go to the fair and we were worried it wouldn't happen, but it ended up being the best blessing ever. The rain cooled the temp a bit and I think it kept a few people away. The kids had a blast looking at the tractors and seeing all the animals. It really could not have been a better day.
Could these kids be any happier?
Natalie loved the animals!
Ty was pretty apprehensive, but got better by the time we got to the goats.
Oh how I love my sheep.
His favorite animal was the cow. I was a bit disappointed it wasn't sheep, but I'll get over it. I blame his cousin Jordan for all the fun time he spent with them and the cows on their farm :-)
This was Myles' FAVORITE spot at the farm. They were little model farms and he just stared and stared and stared some more. He kept saying, "I'm going to build my own farm Mama".
Ty really liked the rooster. I liked that they are rocking the same hairdo.

After a full morning of looking at livestock it was time for lunch. What better than some hotdogs at the fair?
Landin is obviously a hotdog eating champ!!
This was Myles' first corndog and he was pretty excited. It was as big as his head and he kept eating it like a piece of corn.
The whole crew!
Look at that hotdog eating form!
After all the kids ate the uber nutritious hotdogs it was time for dessert. Thanks to the nice stand that had a MASSIVE inflatable ice cream cone at it the kids decided ice cream was the way to go. (It's amazing how sneaky these people are with their marketing to kids!!) I decided I would take the kids to get ice cream while Adrienne sat with Natalie. I didn't discuss what I was getting them and just did it. I figured since they were little kids they wouldn't give them too much ice cream and since it was "cooler"  they wouldn't melt very fast and the kids wouldn't make too much of a mess. I was wrong on all aspects. The cones were huge, the temp outside was above freezing, the kids made more of a mess than I imagined, and we all had a BLAST. I am glad I did it because we don't do things like that very often and they had so much fun. I am also glad that Adrienne forgave me for her kids getting filthy. Pretty sure she won't let me take her kids anywhere alone after this though. :-)
They look so clean here.....Not for long!
Let the melting mess begin!
He looks so happy and sweet. Ty sat all by himself and was totally content just working on that ice cream.
I have never seen Landin this dirty and may never see him this dirty again.
Sweet Lauren
Pretty happy I chose a dark shirt for the fair. This will be the rule when we go to the fair.
It looks like he was attacked by birds. :-) Funny thing was that the only extra clothes I had in my bag were clean shorts for Ty since he is only recently potty trained. SCORE!!!
He liked using the spoon better than licking it.
Nothing says friendship like sharing your cone.
We took this one or Uncle Ken. We won't let Papa see it. :-)
So happy to be able to play on tractors!

They look like they're in trouble.
Landin LOVES John Deere!!
Obviously she had a good time at the fair!

Adrienne's house is all one level with a sunken in living room. Natalie quickly mastered the 2 stairs and it was nice to know that even if she did take a little tumble it would be minor.

Pretty proud of herself!
Coming down!!

Next on our agenda is to head back to Indiana for the state fair in a month. Not going to lie, I'm counting down the days!! Nothing is better than state fair time!!
