Many Faces of Ty

My mini man has more facial expressions than I know what to do with....I had to put them together just so I could laugh ....There is no question he got this talent from his daddy and yet Nat always seems to be surprised at how animated he is. :-) There is no question that Ty will always have quite the personality.

HIking Time

Nat has been pushing me to work less and relax more. It's an odd concept for me, but as I get farther along in this pregnancy I have found that I really don't have much choice in the matter. I simply can't keep up. I know I wasn't this tired this early with either of my other pregnancies, but I also wasn't chasing 2 crazy boys all day long. That being said we decided to skip the "projects" for a day and just go out together and have fun. We found a state park and did some hiking. Myles LOVES to hike and we have yet to have a bad hiking experience as a family. (Minus the time Nat sprained his ankle, but we still had fun till the very end).  We were not let down again this hike. I was a much slower hiker, but we all made it and took great naps when we got home. Ty even got down and did quite a bit of walking himself. He was having a blast.

The loves of my life. SUPERMEN!

Vegas Baby

Yes...at 31 weeks pregnant Nat and I made our way to Las Vegas, or as Myles says "Lost Vegas". Nat's boss was kind enough to give us this opportunity since I will be too far along to go to Florida with the rest of the office in September. (Myles and Nat will still be going though!!). He is far too generous and we don't deserve any of it, but sure were grateful for the opportunity to get some alone time. Mom and dad came all the way from MN to brave the boys for all that time alone and we could not have been more relaxed when leaving. We knew the boys would be in GREAT hands, we just were hoping mom and dad would be in one piece when we got home.

We really didn't make any plans for our time out there. We wanted it to just be a relaxing time together and not the typical go go go of our daily lives. We sat by the pool, I read 1.5 books (It usually takes me about a year to read 1 book!), ate good food, and did some walking around. We did splurge while there and went to Cirque Du Soleil. It was AMAZING and worth every bit of uncomfortableness I felt after filling my pregnant self full of buffet food and then trying to sit cramped in theater seats for an hour and a half. Lesson learned...Show then buffet. It was just kind of a funny trip to realize that 5 days away from our boys was much harder than we expected it to be and that we are WAY past the "Vegas Stage" in our lives. All that being said it was WONDERFUL to be able to sit down for a meal with Nat and have adult conversation and be able to just be with each other while our boys were in wonderful hands and having far more fun than we could ever have. :-)

First Day of "School"

Myles started his 1st day of "school" yesterday at our church. I struggled with whether or not to send him to the program because a.) I'm not ready to accept that he isn't a baby b.) As a teacher I felt I could teach him everything that they are teaching him and it wouldn't cost us anything. c) I always thought sending your kids to "school" when they were 2 or 3 seemed excessive. After just one day I can tell he is going to love it and it will be GREAT for him. The socializing alone is going to be worth it and I am realizing very quickly that learning from other people is a lot easier than me trying to teach him right now. One of my biggest worries about the entire program was making sure he was awake and in a decent mood before 9am classes started. It's a good thing it's only 2 days a week and we only have to drive 1 block to get there so we don't need to leave all too early.:-) So far though we have done well. By the time he got home at noon he was yawning up a storm.
For his first day of school breakfast we had eggs and strawberries. He ate all his eggs and then asked for more. In my laziness I asked if there was ANYTHING else he wanted, even a Poptart, and he said all he wanted was more eggs. So I made a second batch of them and he ate those too! No concerns about being hungry for the first day!
I LOVE how sweet he looks here. This was the only picture I could get without having Ty sneak in.
Ty is yelling CHEESE right along with Myles. I think he was just as excited. The one benefit to having Myles in school 2 days a week is that I get 3 hours of just Ty and Mommy time that I haven't really ever gotten. He is a lot less needy when is brother is not there to bug him.

Here is what Myles learned on his first day of school. He said that circles were really hard to keep on the lines. :-) I am going to try to take pictures of his school work rather than keeping them all and having the clutter. I will have to keep a few though. :-)

The Leech crew came to visit this weekend and man those kids had fun. I love how quickly the noise level goes us because you know that means they are having a great time. Because it was so hot we decided to go to Gatti Town which is very similar to a Chuck E Cheese type of place. My favorite part of going to these places is that Myles really doesn't get that you need to put money in the machines to make them work. He likes to just sit on the rides and pretend he's driving them. It will be a sad day when he learns the real truth and I have to start paying for each game.
It was fun to see both Landin and Lauren warming up to Nat during the weekend. By the end of the trip Lauren would walk around looking for Nat. Ty of course then got jealous and would run and cry and ask to be picked up as well. Oh if he only knew what is in store for him!!
So excited to have a friend to play with.

30 Weeks!

This week we reached a milestone in the pregnancy. WE MADE IT TO 30 WEEKS!!! I just have a sense of calm about me once I have made it to this point. I know that we still have 10 weeks to go, but to me this is an accomplishment. The next big deal is 40 and then the real fun begins.

Everyone keeps asking what I think I am having and I HONESTLY have no idea. I am would say I am having a girl because this baby feels much higher than the boys were AND I have some really cute girl clothes that have been handed down to me I want to get to use. :-) Other than that, though, I HAVE NO IDEA. Let's be honest, with the Mitchell odds, it will be a boy and I would LOVE that!!

I am still feeling pretty good, but am starting to get more and more uncomfortable at night. This just means more naps with my boys. Other than that I am still trying to walk as often as possible, but find it hard to do with all this heat. I figure keeping up with my little guys is activity enough.

Heat...Heat..and More Heat.

I haven't blogged much in the last week or so because I feel like we haven't really DONE anything big except try to survive the heat! Every day we pretty much try to get outside as early as possible and play hard because once noon is here it just seems unbearable. Ty is not a fan of the heat at all. He gets bright red after about 5 minutes and then starts to get sassier and sassier as he gets hotter and hotter. Myles on the other hand does really well in the heat, but is eaten alive by the mosquitoes.  Poor kid literally has 4 bites on him before he gets his shoes (or typically boots) on! He has learned that my nails are longer and "better" than his so he sticks close by me and asks me to scratch his itches all the time.

The boys LOVE to play on their "tractors". Ty has not figured out how to drive NEARLY as well as Myles did at this age. He is always running into things and getting annoyed. He has FINALLY figured out how to get off and push it back at least.
The new tractor our neighbors gave to Myles since their granddaughter grew out of it.
Don't let those eyes fool you....He is scheming something at all times I swear. :-)

I'm pretty sure this hat was my older brother's hat when he was little. Makes me giggle when he wears it.
