7 Months!!!

Sweet baby girl just keeps growing....Maybe not much, but she IS getting older.:-) This month we are really starting to see how much smaller Natalie is than most babies her age. She is barely wearing 6 month clothes and a lot of her 3-6 month clothes still fit her. I truly have no concerns because she is developing pretty much right on with where the boys were, she just isn't as big. She started crawling  army crawl style a couple of weeks ago but just this week she started crawling with her belly off the ground. It is funny to watch her start out crawling slowly on her hands and knees and then when she sees something she wants to drops to her belly and bolts as fast as she can. Her newest game is to crawl to where I am sitting and try to pull herself up on me and then she just wants me to hold her fingers and let her walk. It just looks so funny because she is to tiny and she is trying to walk. I can remember Myles wanting to walk very early as well. We use to walk up and down the hallway with him until our backs hurt from bending over. He was walking on his own by 9.5 months!! I don't think Natalie will be quite as early, but never say never. The last big accomplishment this month is that she can hold her bottle by herself!! (Can you hear the excitement in that last sentence!!) In her defense, I use glass bottles which are really heavy and one day when I trying to multitask big time, I gave her one of the plastic ones and put her on a pillow and she had no problems. It wasn't totally mess free, but it gave me a couple extra minutes to get things done and she was content and at least getting SOME food in her.

7 Month Stats!
Weight -14.7 lbs (up half a pound!)
Diaper Size - 2 (Still)
Clothing Size - 3-6 Month (Still)
Sleeping - Bed at 9:00 pm and wake around 8:00am
Naps- One nap from 10:30-11 and a second from 2-4

Looking like such a sweet little lady!

She was not impressed with all the noises I was making in attempt to get her to smile. She was just chillin and felt no need to please me with smiles. I don't blame her.
Showing off her big girl crawling.
Oh how I love this new skill!!

Mother's day

Mother's day this year takes the cake as the BEST Mother's Day ever!!! I had all sorts of plans to get the garden planted, get yard work done, and use my "special day" for getting stuff accomplished. There was a 50% chance of rain and I was really optimistic that it wouldn't be an issue because we haven't see rain hardly at all lately. Well 50% turned into 100% overnight and we had rain from 8am until we went to bed. So there went my plans. God OBVIOUSLY had better plans for my day than I did. Since it was raining I got to sleep in and be woken up by the best looking boys that I have ever seen. They brought me eggs, REAL waffles, (Not the frozen ones) an apple, and juice. Myles then saw how much fun this whole breakfast in bed thing was so he went and got his waffles and he and Ty joined me for breakfast in bed.
One running joke we have is that Nat typically doesn't get me a gift for Mother's Day because he says "I'm not his Mom". This year he really went above and beyond and got a new picture frame with cork board on it. (Dude actually went into Hobby Lobby to buy this!!!! That is HUGE!) He printed pics of all the kids and then put all kinds of "Love It" comics on it that pertained to mothers. Those are our favorite comics.  My favorite part of the entire gift was the thinking behind it. He said we could add pics as we got good ones but he got a really big frame so we could add pictures of our foster kids as soon they come. It's ALL about the ideas behind the gift and less about the gift itself if you ask me.
So much cooler in person. :-)
Nat then took the boys to the grocery store and got my grocery list and I got to have one on one time with Natalie. I put some good music on and she and I swayed to the music until she fell asleep in my arms. It was HEAVEN!! We finished the night with Nat's homemade chicken nuggets which are so unhealthy and SO yummy.
I kind of wish Mother's Day could happen twice a year, but even if it never happened I would still have to say that I have the BEST job in the world. I get to see these monkeys growing and learning everyday. I will never regret missing out on being a part of the "cool working world" to stay home and be a part of all this craziness.

Just Like Mommy

I've never really been all too sentimental with baby stuff of mine being passed down to my kids until I had a little girl. My mom gave me this outfit well before Natalie was born and I really didn't know what to do with it since I was certain she would be a boy. Once Natalie was born it hit me how cool it was that she could wear something that I wore as a baby. I know it's pretty cheesy and probably not at all interesting to anyone else, but it sure made me smile. I couldn't find any pictures of me wearing it, but when I head home to MN I will be looking just so I can compare. (I'm still secretly hoping there will be a picture of me as a baby that somehow shows SOME resemblance to me and not Nat). Here is my sweet girl wearing her mommy's little outfit.

No idea what she is thinking here, but the expression made me smile.

Sewing Fun

Now that I have a little girl, sewing has become a whole new experience. Little girl dresses are so much fun to make that I dusted off my trusty sewing machine and am reteaching myself all the sewing basics. I've done a couple basic projects that I found online and am in love with the pillowcase dress. It's crazy how easy it is to find tutorials for almost any project you could think of online. My favorite thing is when you find the video to go with it! The only problem I'm having right now is finding the TIME to sit down and sew. I find myself going in streaks. I will really get into a project for a week and then I take a couple weeks off. I have currently invaded Nat's office and have set up my sewing machine in there and am LOVING being able to have the machine up at all times. It makes it a lot easier to be able to start a project and leave it out rather than having to put everything away each night like I had to do when I was using the kitchen table. Here is my little model in her new dresses that her mama made.

HERE are the links I used to make my dresses if you wanted to use them.

I made a dress for our sweet neighbor and since she is the same age as Ty I made him try it on so I knew it would fit her. I totally bribed him with jelly beans to get him to put it on. He is TOTALLY going to kill me when he's 16 and I bring this picture out, but SOOO worth it.
