One day our neighbor decided to cut down a big tree in his front yard so I took the kids to watch the process. While we were sitting there watching I noticed the neighbor 3 doors down put her house on the market. I knew she was going to and that it had a basement so I figured I'd go online and check it out for fun. When I did I was surprised to see the price and that even though she's lived there for 30 years it was fairly updated. I got this CRAZY idea that Nat and I should go look at it. Nat was NOT impressed at all with my idea. I don't blame him at all since we have JUST gotten to a nice point in our remodel where we don't have any major projects to do and we've only been in our house about 2.5 years. The main reason I had to go see the house was that in the last 2 months our house has seemed to shrink as the kids get older, louder, and more energetic. It will only seem smaller when we add a foster child in the mix as well. We LOVE our neighborhood (Pretty sure I've said that on my blog about a million times) and this house would provide us the chance to stay here for an indefinite amount of time. Nat finally went and we looked at the house. I was smitten right away because I felt like it was a home and not a house. You could tell there was a lot of love put into building it and there were lots of memories there. (Nat thought I was crazy). The only thing that had Nat holding out was that it has a flat roof. Yes, this is weird and it makes the house look like a Kleenex box, but I could care less. When we found out that there's a 10 year warranty on the roof Nat had nothing to battle back with. :-) We put an offer in and they accepted it. We then worked like I have NEVER worked before to get our house show ready and on the market. Week one was looking at Miss Jean's house and week 2 was spent getting our house ready. Week three was spent showing our house and it sold 8 days after having it on the market. We were EXHAUSTED. God was so kind to us though as the day after we got our house sold Nat went to Florida with his boss for a week. I wish I could say it was a "business trip" but the only business they had was with the beach and the sun. During that week I was home with my lovely kiddos trying to keep it all together, but INSANELY happy to not be worrying about having to show the house by myself. It was during the week of showing that I started working at the preschool program at our church as well. All 3 kiddos started going to the program (Myles went last year but this was the first time for Ty and Natalie) and it felt I might lose my mind on a couple occasions. God is good and he helped me keep it together by providing the MOST AMAZING friends through it all. Seriously, I had friends just show up at my door to help us paint and get the house ready. I had another friend who took ALL THREE kids from 10 until 3 one day while Nat and I worked!!!! That was insane because once you have more than 2 kids people tend to not offer to help babysit.:-) Funny how that works.....:-)It really was an amazing time of God showing me that when I pray and listen to what He's saying, I will have an answer and that I then need to trust him to work it all out. Shortly after we sold the house I realized that being away from my little ones was just more than I could handle. I LOVE being with my kids and know how truly blessed I am to be able to stay home with them. It was just so hard for me to drop them off with someone else so I could go take care of someone else's child. After lots of praying I decided I was going to have to quit, which I HATE. I HATE quitting, but the idea of waiting it out until the end of the school year literally made me cry. Natalie will be 18 months old then and I will have missed so much!! I know I sound like the crazy mom here, but at the end of the day, I'm ok with the crazy mom title as long as I get to be with my kids. My kids will want nothing to do with me soon enough and I am going to CHERISH every second I get with them now. It just goes by WAY too quickly.
I think that we are all caught up now.....So we bought a house, sold a house, started a new job, quit new job, and are now packing a house and loving on some kiddos. We will close on our house Mid-November. Miss Jean was sweet and gave us a late closing date because we weren't sure how long it would take to sell ours. It's posts like this that make the title of my blog just seem so PERFECT!!
Here are the pictures of our current house since I haven't really done any "after" pictures of it and since I know there will be no new projects being done to it. I will be very sad to say good-bye to it, but look forward to having some more space as well as still living on good "ol Lantern Way. :-) (On a funny note, the new owners of our house have told us that this will be their last home and they will tell their daughters that they need to sell it back to us when they die. :-) Kinda funny....)

The new owners were sweet enough to let me keep these curtains. I made almost all the curtains in the house and will be leaving them, but I LOVE these and they are so sweet and girly.
This backyard is the reason we bought this house!!!
